Helen is single and values her independence. As she lives in rented accommodation,
and has no dependents relying on her, she cannot see the need for ploughing her resources into a policy which offers a death benefit. However, she realised that when one of her cousins contracted a disabilitating illness she would not have any form of income should she be stricken with a similar fate. Although Helen has some savings, she knows that these would not keep her for long.
After making some
initial enquiries Helen was shown how she could protect
her income and maintain her lifestyle by taking out a protection package which included a critical illness benefit. The protection package is flexible which means that at a later date she could add further benefits if and when she requires them. Helen has recently started contributing to her company pension scheme, providing more security for her income and her future.
